Breakfast Topic: Pet battles and you

I don’t think I’ve ever been quite so excited for a new feature as I am about Pet Battles. It’s not that it’s a particularly original concept (goodness knows there have been endless iterations of battling monster games out there), but we’ve never seen it in Warcraft before. And I have a lot of pets. I mean a lot. Sure it isn’t saving the world from impending disaster, but oh man I can’t wait to stuff some critters in cages and then let them out to happily try and murder each other.

Now that Pet Battles are live on the beta, we can finally test it out and see what the whole experience is like. Between capturing wild pets, fighting and leveling up the critters I already have, and unlocking all the Pet Battle quests out there with the assorted Pet Tamers around the world, I have so much for my little furry friends to do when Mists goes live.

What do you think about the Pet Battles feature? Have you tried it out on the beta yet? Are you looking forward to it coming out? Do you have a ton of pets waiting and raring to go when Mists goes live, or are you really not that concerned with pets at all? And perhaps the most important question of all: Are you gonna be the very best?

It’s open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft’s next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!
